MEDATLAS LEARNING MINDS

Terms of Use

These Terms govern access to and use of MedAtlas Learning Minds websites, applications, educational environments, artificial intelligence systems, assessment tools, simulations, libraries, community features, and related services.

Effective October 1, 2026
01 Human Authority

AI supports human professionals. It does not replace professional responsibility.

02 Responsible Creation

MedAtlas provides tools for learning, scholarship, assessment, and professional development.

03 Community by Choice

Private creation and public contribution are distinct activities.

01

Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and MedAtlas Learning Minds (“MedAtlas,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) governing your access to and use of MedAtlas websites, applications, software, educational environments, artificial intelligence features, assessment systems, simulation environments, libraries, professional profiles, community services, and related products and services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to any additional terms or policies applicable to a particular Service.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Services.

02

Eligibility, Accounts & Credentials

Certain MedAtlas Services require an account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating or maintaining an account and to keep your account information reasonably current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity occurring through your account, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law.

You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent professional credentials, falsely claim institutional affiliation, or allow another person to use credentials intended specifically for you.

Certain professional, faculty, medical director, institutional, administrative, or clinical functions may require verification or additional authorization.

03

Purpose of MedAtlas

MedAtlas Learning Minds develops technology supporting healthcare education, learning, assessment, simulation, scholarship, professional development, collaboration, knowledge organization, and related academic and professional activities.

MedAtlas is designed around collaboration between human expertise and computational intelligence. Artificial intelligence may assist humans with creation, analysis, synthesis, retrieval, assessment, simulation, organization, and other activities.

Human professional authority remains fundamental.

MedAtlas technology is intended to augment human capability. It does not transfer professional, academic, clinical, ethical, or legal responsibility from a human decision-maker to an artificial intelligence system.

04

Medical & Clinical Disclaimer

Unless expressly identified otherwise under a separate written agreement, MedAtlas Services are educational, informational, academic, simulation, or professional-support technologies.

They are not a substitute for the independent judgment of a licensed healthcare professional and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, patient management, emergency decision making, or other clinical decisions.

Information generated, retrieved, summarized, simulated, or presented by MedAtlas may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, inappropriate for a particular patient, or affected by limitations in underlying data, models, sources, prompts, software, or system configuration.

Medical Emergency

Do not use MedAtlas to communicate or manage a medical emergency. Contact appropriate emergency services and follow applicable institutional and professional procedures.

05

Artificial Intelligence

Certain MedAtlas Services use artificial intelligence, machine learning, computational reasoning, retrieval systems, generative technologies, or other automated systems.

AI-generated or AI-assisted output may contain errors, omissions, fabricated information, outdated information, inappropriate recommendations, incorrect citations, or other inaccuracies.

You are responsible for evaluating output before relying on it in circumstances where accuracy, safety, academic integrity, professional standards, or patient welfare matter.

MedAtlas may use automated systems together with human review, governance mechanisms, evidence systems, safety controls, and other methods intended to improve quality and responsible operation. These measures reduce risk but cannot eliminate all error.

06

Professional Responsibility

Healthcare professionals remain responsible for their own professional decisions and for complying with applicable standards of care, professional standards, licensure requirements, institutional policies, laws, regulations, and ethical obligations.

Faculty members and academic institutions remain responsible for curriculum, grading, learner evaluation, progression decisions, academic integrity, accreditation requirements, and other academic judgments.

MedAtlas output does not create or modify a professional standard of care.

07

Educational, Assessment & Simulation Use

MedAtlas may provide quizzes, assessments, adaptive encounters, simulated patients, clinical scenarios, educational resources, examination preparation, explanations, scoring, feedback, or other learning experiences.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, completion of a MedAtlas assessment or learning activity does not itself establish professional competency, certification, licensure, credentialing, academic credit, continuing education credit, or authorization to practice.

Simulated patients, scenarios, environments, findings, outcomes, and consequences may intentionally simplify, modify, or model real-world clinical situations for educational purposes.

08

User Content

“User Content” means content you submit, upload, enter, create, author, or otherwise provide through the Services, including text, prompts, questions, educational materials, documents, images, assessments, comments, scholarly works, and other materials.

As between you and MedAtlas, you retain any rights you lawfully hold in your original User Content, subject to applicable law, institutional obligations, third-party rights, and the licenses granted under these Terms.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to provide User Content to MedAtlas and to authorize the uses required to provide the Services.

You should not submit material that infringes another person's copyright, privacy, confidentiality, contractual, proprietary, or other rights.

09

AI-Assisted & Generated Content

MedAtlas may assist users in generating, modifying, organizing, analyzing, or transforming content through artificial intelligence.

Rights in AI-assisted or AI-generated material may depend on applicable law, the nature and extent of human authorship, underlying source material, third-party rights, and other circumstances.

MedAtlas does not represent or warrant that every AI-generated output is eligible for copyright protection, exclusively owned by a user, unique, or free from similarities to material generated for another user.

Subject to applicable rights and restrictions, users may use eligible outputs provided through MedAtlas for their educational, scholarly, professional, and other lawful purposes.

10

Community Intelligence

MedAtlas supports a model in which educational knowledge can be created privately and, when a user chooses, contributed to a broader learning community.

Private by default. Shared by choice. Governed when public.

Creating, saving, completing, or exporting an eligible artifact does not by itself constitute public contribution.

Where a Service supports community contribution, MedAtlas intends to provide a distinct mechanism through which the user affirmatively chooses to contribute an eligible artifact to a public or community collection.

Additional information regarding this philosophy is available on the Community Intelligence page.

11

Atlas Public & Community-Contributed Content

Atlas Public and similar community collections may contain educational artifacts voluntarily contributed by MedAtlas users.

Unless specifically identified otherwise, community content should not be interpreted as having been independently authored, verified, endorsed, or medically reviewed by MedAtlas, its Medical Directors, faculty, advisers, or affiliated professionals.

MedAtlas may distinguish community-contributed content from curated, professionally reviewed, institutional, or other categories of content.

MedAtlas may review, classify, restrict, remove, quarantine, decline to publish, or otherwise moderate community content when reasonably necessary for safety, quality, integrity, legal compliance, intellectual property protection, security, or operation of the Services.

Public Attribution

Under contribution pathways designated as publicly unattributed, MedAtlas will not display the contributor's identity as the public author of the artifact unless the user chooses an available attribution option or another applicable publication arrangement provides otherwise.

MedAtlas may nevertheless retain internal records linking an artifact to its originating account, including provenance, consent, moderation, security, audit, and other operational records.

12

Licenses Needed to Operate MedAtlas

Service License

When you provide User Content to MedAtlas, you grant MedAtlas a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, format, display, adapt, and otherwise use that content to the extent reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, support, and operate the Services you request.

Public Contribution License

If you affirmatively contribute an eligible artifact to Atlas Public or another MedAtlas community collection, you additionally grant MedAtlas a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, preserve, reproduce, display, distribute, make available, format, and technically adapt the contributed artifact for operation of the applicable community collection.

The scope, duration, withdrawal rules, and any additional rights associated with particular public contribution programs may be further described in product-specific terms presented at the time of contribution.

Exported Content

Where a MedAtlas Service permits an eligible artifact to be downloaded or exported, MedAtlas encourages lawful educational and professional use of that artifact, subject to applicable intellectual property rights, licenses, institutional requirements, third-party restrictions, and these Terms.

13

Institutional & Employment-Related Content

Your employer, university, healthcare organization, research institution, or other organization may have rights or policies governing material created within the scope of your employment, appointment, education, research, grant, contract, or institutional duties.

MedAtlas does not determine ownership disputes between users and their employers or institutions.

You are responsible for determining whether you have authority to upload, export, publish, or publicly contribute institutional materials through MedAtlas.

Separate institutional agreements may supersede or supplement portions of these Terms for users accessing MedAtlas through an institution.

14

Privacy, Patient Information & HIPAA

Your use of MedAtlas is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

Read the MedAtlas Privacy Policy →

Protected Health Information

Unless a particular MedAtlas Service, deployment, or written institutional agreement expressly states that the Service is authorized to receive Protected Health Information (“PHI”), you must not enter, upload, transmit, or disclose identifiable patient information or PHI through general-purpose or educational MedAtlas Services.

Healthcare professionals and learners should use appropriately de-identified, synthetic, or fictionalized patient information for educational activities whenever appropriate.

HIPAA-Regulated Services

If MedAtlas provides a Service on behalf of a HIPAA covered entity under circumstances in which MedAtlas acts as a business associate, that Service may be governed by additional privacy, security, operational, contractual, and Business Associate Agreement requirements.

A general MedAtlas account, educational subscription, or use of an educational AI feature does not by itself establish a business associate relationship or authorize the submission of PHI.

15

Acceptable Use

You agree to use MedAtlas lawfully, responsibly, and in a manner consistent with the educational and professional nature of the platform.

You may not use the Services to:

  • violate applicable law or another person's rights;
  • misrepresent professional credentials or identity;
  • submit confidential patient information where the applicable Service is not authorized to receive it;
  • distribute malware, malicious code, or harmful technical material;
  • circumvent authentication, authorization, security, usage limitations, or technical safeguards;
  • attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, databases, infrastructure, administrative functions, or non-public information;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the Services;
  • use MedAtlas to facilitate academic dishonesty in violation of applicable academic or institutional rules;
  • upload or distribute material you do not have the right to use;
  • falsely represent community content as professionally reviewed, endorsed, or officially authored by MedAtlas; or
  • use the Services in a manner reasonably likely to cause harm to another person or compromise patient safety.
16

MedAtlas Intellectual Property

The MedAtlas platform, software, interfaces, designs, branding, logos, original platform content, system architecture, product names, audiovisual elements, documentation, and other materials provided by MedAtlas may be protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, contract, or other intellectual property laws.

Except for rights expressly granted under these Terms, MedAtlas and its licensors retain their respective rights in those materials.

These Terms do not grant permission to copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, misappropriate, or commercially exploit protected MedAtlas technology or proprietary materials except as expressly permitted by law or written authorization.

17

Third-Party Services & Content

MedAtlas may integrate with or link to third-party services, websites, databases, publications, payment providers, infrastructure providers, artificial intelligence providers, authentication systems, or other technologies.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms, policies, licenses, and practices.

MedAtlas is not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

18

Service Availability, Research Features & Changes

MedAtlas is an evolving technology ecosystem. Features, products, interfaces, models, educational resources, simulations, pricing, availability, and functionality may change over time.

Certain features may be experimental, developmental, preview, beta, research-oriented, or otherwise subject to modification.

MedAtlas does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of every Service or that every feature will remain available indefinitely.

We may modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for development, security, safety, legal compliance, quality, operational needs, or other legitimate purposes.

19

Suspension & Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to all or part of the Services where reasonably necessary to address violations of these Terms, security risks, unlawful conduct, abuse, threats to other users or the platform, nonpayment where applicable, or other legitimate operational concerns.

Termination of an account does not necessarily require deletion of information that MedAtlas is legally permitted or required to retain, including security, audit, transaction, provenance, compliance, dispute, backup, and public-contribution records.

Treatment of publicly contributed artifacts following account closure may be governed by the contribution terms applicable when the artifact was published.

20

Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS.

MEDATLAS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, COMPLETELY SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR EVERY EDUCATIONAL, PROFESSIONAL, CLINICAL, OR INSTITUTIONAL PURPOSE.

MEDATLAS DOES NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, ORIGINALITY, COPYRIGHTABILITY, OR FITNESS OF EVERY AI-GENERATED, COMMUNITY-GENERATED, OR THIRD-PARTY OUTPUT.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

21

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MEDATLAS AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO USE OF THE SERVICES.

THIS INCLUDES, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED, COMMUNITY-GENERATED, EDUCATIONAL, OR SIMULATED CONTENT.

ANY ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS OR LIABILITY ALLOCATIONS APPLICABLE TO PAID, ENTERPRISE, OR INSTITUTIONAL SERVICES MAY BE SET FORTH IN THE APPLICABLE AGREEMENT.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED.

22

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MedAtlas and its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Services, your material violation of these Terms, or User Content that you submit in violation of another person's rights.

This provision does not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law or modified by a separate written institutional agreement.

23

Governing Law & General Provisions

These Terms will be governed by applicable law as determined under the governing-law provisions ultimately adopted by MedAtlas, except where applicable consumer or other law requires otherwise.

Legal Review Required Before Final Launch

The final governing-law, venue, dispute-resolution, arbitration, class-action waiver, damages cap, and related contractual provisions should be established with legal counsel before MedAtlas relies on these Terms as its final production agreement.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective to the extent permitted by law.

Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

24

Changes to These Terms

MedAtlas may update these Terms as the Services, technologies, laws, institutional relationships, and community evolve.

When changes are made, the effective date will be updated. Where required by law or appropriate based on the nature of the change, additional notice may be provided.

Continued use of the Services after revised Terms become effective may constitute acceptance of those Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
